Number crunching to find the average cost of Botox at Surgical Artistry

I retrospectively studied 46 sequential patient charts (kept strictly anonymous) in May, 2012, and logged their Botox usage. Specifically the amount of Botox used and the amount paid for Botox. When I wrote cost above, I mean specifically how much the patient paid for the Botox which includes the injections/office visit.

I saw many more than 46 patients for Botox in May. I was originally planning on looking at all the charts in May, but after about 46 charts, I decided that it was enough and I had other project that needed my time.

Disclaimer, I am not a statistician. I just like spreadsheets.

Results:

29 Botox Units

Average # of units used per patient is 29 units of Botox

The Median # of units used per patient is 26 units of Botox.

The Mode # of units used per patient is 26 units of Botox

Average price paid for Botox:

$339.30

Update: As of 4/2/15, The average price would translate to $348.00. I will do another chart review and figure out the average number of units of Botox used currently.

Please see update done on 4/20/15 regarding my Modesto Botox practice average number of units per patient - which comes out to a little above 36U of Botox per patient. (this is up from 29 as reported on this page).
